Smartphones are more like computers right now, then ever before. Why? One only needs to upgrade their laptop computers every three to five years. My HP is doing great and I bought my HP Envy back in the beginning of 2018. But before that my previous laptop was a gift from 2014 when I graduated from college and before that, my previous laptop was back in 2009 as a gift for college. So, in the past 10 years, I had 3 laptops. And smartphones are becoming more and more like laptops. Sure, if one has the money, they can have a new laptop or new smartphone every year. But most people (even if they have the money) don't want to get a new laptop or smartphone year after year. The better the smartphone has become over the past 12 years or so ever since the first iPhone back in 2007. Even before that, there was the Blackberry. But smartphones are lasting longer and longer. I'm going see if I can make my smartphone last a good three years, which is the Blackberry KeyOne. I bought it in October of 2017 and it is approaching a good two years in October 2019. Now, I said I will not buy a new smartphone until I get a good two years out of my smartphone. Then I would give myself permission of buying a new smartphone, but I may not need to until 2020. I'm still on the fence with it. Since, I'm going to use my computer for blogging my need to upgrade has decreased quite a bit. Because I only need so much horsepower to blog. And the video games that I play are quite a bit older and I only play them on single player and they work just fine with me playing them. And I haven't really played my video games that much so far this year since I'm concentrating on my blogging via this website and maybe future websites that I might create in the future.

Huawei is coming out with a fold-able smartphone much like Samsung's delayed Galaxy Fold. But Huawei's will fold the opposite way of Samsung's Galaxy Fold, meaning the screen will be exposed, instead of the Samsung's book like Galaxy Fold.
Here is some of the specs that I got from GSM Arena's website: Android 9.0 Up to 512 GB of storage 8 GB of Ram HiSilicon Kirin 980 Battery of 4,500 mAh The expected release date is sometime in June 2019, in a previous article that I did about the Galaxy Fold, they have until June to beat Huawei, which I doubt that Samsung will be able to pull it off. Reference: https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_mate_x-9605.php Samsung Galaxy Fold has been post-pone until they fixed the physical stability issues. I believe that Samsung had rushed it without testing it properly meaning they didn't test it in the "real world." Testing the folding process is one thing, not testing it in the real world before it comes out is risky especially when this type of phone comes out. But any fold-able screen device will almost always have issues when compared to the regular smart phones that we see today. Almost all of them are in a rectangular shape and is sold with no moving parts. Back in the day, flip cell phones were known to break easier than their non flip cell phones. Solid devices will almost always have an advantage when it comes to durability because they don't deal with moving parts. Fold-able smart phones will always have this issue. It will break easier. The whole screen issue should have been caught if proper testing was in place and not skipped. Samsung would need to get their fold-able smartphone out in the market before November otherwise Huawei would take the first fold-able smartphone. I'm cheering Samsung on this one because I want Samsung to beat Huawei on the fold-able smartphone market, because Samsung is not a Chinese company, it is a South Korea company.

Fold-able Smartphones: The idea where one can fold their smart phone screen out like a tablet is very much a good thing. Instead of getting two devices one could just buy the one device and be able to use it as a tablet when they want to and use it as a smart phone when they want to. Of course there would be a market need for tablets which is an off shoot of smart phones but it will become less of a market need as the years go by. In the next five years or so, this might be a norm. You can still get a dumb phone today, so like the tablet, one can still get the tablet in five years or so. Smart Watches: The next thing is smart watches. The advancement of smart phone watches might take us to a world where it might start to replace actual smart phones. Two things that needs to be advance in order to this to happen. Hologram technology but more importantly battery life. Battery life is one of the biggest hindrance against smart watches. The current smart watches using just current technology needs to last a good week otherwise one would have to buy two smart watches or have easy battery replacements. This is what needs to happen is to have smart watches last a lot longer than a typical day or so. I have a dump watch that is finally starting to fall apart (it resets itself every 20 days or so, but I had it since 2013/14, and I started to have problems with it starting in January/February of this year). So it is a good 5 years or so before it started to have problems. So, what I would like to see happen is a bigger advancement in smartphones being able to fold out into a tablet and smart watches increasing battery life by a good 10x or so. There will be a massive growth in Drone Photography, and it is currently in its earlier stages of the game. While traditional cameras have came a long way from 20 years ago, DSLR and now Mirrorless Cameras, and advance digital cameras (also known as bridge cameras), are impacting photography. But Drone Technology applied to photography is impacting the way a lot of photographers are doing their photography aka, landscape and street photography. There are situations where I can imagine that if I had a small drone, I could get an interesting shot when I was on vacation, down in Florida/South Carolina and other areas. Now obviously, when one uses a drone, one must be aware where they are and what jurisdiction that they are in. New York City has ban civilian uses of drones in city limits. It use to be, expensive to get an aerial shot. Because one would have to rent a Helicopter for couple of hours in order to get a shot that they want, but now with drone technology it is way easier to get a unique shot with a drone. Which is why, a drone is on my list of things that I really would like to get in order to advance my landscaping photography. In the next 20 years or so, Drones will be much easier to use and would be widely available as long as there isn't much regulations. I can see why a big city like New York would regulate/ban the use of drones. The massive growth in drone technology will be interesting to see in the upcoming years, both price and durability.
Yes, I'm talking about the Blackberry aka the "Crackberry." Yes it is still around, but it is in Android OS instead of BB OS, which is the only way that Blackberry can successfully survive. Blackberry won't be doing an annual releases like many of the other companies out there which I'm fine with. I still have the Blackberry KeyOne which came out in spring of 2017, I got mine in October 2017. I enjoy the keyboard and they did a good idea of having 52 short cuts (2 short cuts per letter) to apps that you can program. One can scroll through an article using the keyboard. The problem with that is, I keep accidentally hitting the back words, home or recent when I try to scroll through a page. There are few times that I actually need it, like when the web page isn't working properly and I want to scroll down the page for more information but the page won't respond as well. But that usually means that the website is giving me a hard time because I use Brave Browser that blocks most ads. And at that point I move on to another website. Hence, why you don't see any ads on my website because they are annoying. Anyways! I do enjoy the Blackberry and has serve me well. And no this isn't sponsered by Blackberry, it is just my year and a half review of the KeyOne. I plan on going from the Blackberry KeyOne to the "KeyThree" they haven't officially named it yet or even came out with one either, but it may be a Christmas sell or they might do it in the spring of 2020. They have a bunch of various versions of the Key2/Key2 Lite. But I'm looking forward of to the "KeyThree." Thanks for reading I hope you have a wonderful day!
Samsung had just released their first fold-able smartphone. It is great to see a fold-able smartphone released by a major player in the smartphone industry. Will I get one? No, why? Price tag but also it is the first generation phone. Plus, it came out and a lot of reviewers had problems with them. Some thought that the plastic portion was just a typical screen protector and proceeded to peal it off. But some kept it on, and was just using it regularly and it still broke. Now, this is a first generation smart phone of its type so, it is understandable that the phone would have problems but nothing like this. They need to fix the hinge section of this type because it will still be a problem. That being said, I'm really excited to see an actual fold-able smartphone where the screen itself folds into a small phone but can be open up as a small tablet. Now, I can't wait until I see Apple come out with their fold-able smartphone, because I believe that this where the industry might be heading. Our current smartphones might be the flip/dumb phones of the 2000s, but for the 2020s.
