Genesis 1 (Part 2)

Genesis 1:6-8 Day 2:
This explains how the sky was made.  There is some controversy of what the waters above the expanse meant.  So the word expanse, translated from Hebrew to English is sky.  In short, the earth had water what we know as the ocean, above that water is the sky, above the sky had more water.  It is unclear how this water was like but all we know is that water, sky, water.  That is basically what Day 2 is explaining.  We do see water in space and on other planets, it is unclear whether or not there was more water that was closer to the earth that was help shield the earth from more dangerous particles from space.  It may or may not. Later in Genesis 6, 7 and 8 (Noah's flood), the water layer that was above the earth, might have gone away after the flood.  Because people started to die off much quicker than before the flood.  From hundreds of years to not much more than 120 years.  (1) (2)
This is Day 2 of Creation.
Genesis 1:9 - 13:
Now, we look into Day 3 into Creation.  Day 3 consisted of dry land known as earth, appearing, and the waters be separate from the land, known as the seas.  With the combination of vegetation being created.  This was all done on Day 3.

The dry land was all in one place for the most part, because the waters gathered in one place.  It makes since that if all the water is in one place then there will be dry land.  This is where we get the one continent, and there is evidence that all of the land mass was together.  South America and Africa seems to fit together (not perfectly) but just by looking at this one example, we can see it.  But even if we don't "see it" we have scripture to back it up.  And if it is true in scripture it is true.  Secular sources say that all the continents were one known as Pangaea.  And the Bible said it was one continent.  This is one of the things that support the Bible.  (3)

In Verse 11 - 13, God created vegetation after their kind.  The word "kind" means that if it can bread it is in the same kind.  The best/easiest example of this is the wolf kind.  All of the dogs that we see today, and other variations from the wolf kind are from the wolf kind.  If one looks ahead in Genesis, to Noah's flood, it would only need to take the wolf kind, not all of the variations of the different types of wolves that we see today (genetically speaking).  But back to the creation story, God created vegetation and he sprouted vegetation right away.  Whatever that looked like, He being God, can bring about many different vegetation.  Also according to secular sources as well, plants came first, on the earth.  There is very similar to the creation story, the main difference is not necessarily the sequence but the time that it took.  For the most part both the Young Earth Creationists and Evolutionists for the most part agree that it was in order of what Genesis recorded.  Same pattern but different time period.  Meaning 6,000 to 10,000 years old universe to millions/billions of years old universe.  (4) (5)

In short God created the dry land, and vegetation on the third day.  Also, remember there was light so what ever  that light was, it was there for the plants but the plants would only have to wait another day to receive sunlight.  Plus this vegetation was the last thing that God created on the third day.

Genesis 1:14-19 is day four.  Day four is where he created the actual objects of the heavens (space) like the sun moon and stars.  This was also when, God created the hours, days and seasons.  This passage is where many evolutionists and creationists disagree with this particular order.  The evolutionists put the sun and stars first then vegetation.  But it  is interesting that the Sun only beat the Earth only by a small margin when compared to the evolution's timescale.
