Good morning!!! I hope that you are excited to work for the Lord today!
Colossians 3:22-25 NASB: “Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external services, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. For he who does wrong will receive the consequences of the wrong which he has done, and that without partiality.” This passage reminds me that I work for the Lord and not men. Remember that those who follow Jesus should have the perspective of working for the Lord and not men. Regardless of how one feels about their boss, they should be joyful of working for working itself is pleasing in God’s eyes. Genesis 2:15 NASB: “Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.” This makes it clear that God wanted man to work. There are many situations that people who retire early because they worked really hard to get to a point where they are financially free decided to not work for a little while, then they found themselves depressed. They go from working really hard to not working. Now, if one is able to be financially free much earlier in life than normal, it is fine to take a break from the daily grind. But they almost always found themselves working on something. Either going back to the office or creating a business. Man was meant to work regardless of the work that one does, it is pleasing to the Lord for man to work. This is why I believe that God would have us work in heaven/new earth. Because before the corruption of man, God wanted us to work. Now, heavenly work would be more pleasing and would bring us a lot more joy than our earthly work! Anyways, I hope that you would enjoy working heartily for the Lord today! Gospel: Everyone sins against the Lord. If one breaks any of the ten commandments such as, lying or stealing, they are judge as a liar or a thief. God demands perfection, we can’t enter into heaven. But God sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins that we made against God. Jesus died and rose again for our sins so that we may live. I hope you repent and turn to Jesus so you can know the joy of putting one’s trust in Jesus. Disclaimer: These are my personal thoughts.
