First Importance:
Fidel Castro life was filled with corruption and that he had oppressed the Cuban people for decades. In effect he is responsible of destroying people's rights to exist as an individual. Fidel Castro never publicly confessed to believed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and never repented from his sins against the Creator of the universe. From the evidence that I gathered about Castro's life he is in hell. It is sad that he is spending eternity in hell instead of spending eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ. He did believe in God but never indicated that he was under submission of the Lordship of Christ. If one doesn't believe in Christ's redemptive work on the cross and resurrection then one can't really call him or herself a Christian. This is why I put this portion of this particular posting of first importance. I'm more concern about one's soul than the issue of the individual right. Secondary Importance: Fidel Castro was a man that suppressed his people into socialism. Socialism always needs to have a strong government and the institution of government has a historical push for more and more power. Governmental officials in general want more power; in today's world the easiest thing that a politician can do is to bring about socialism. Socialism will destroy the society that it controls. This is why people fled Cuba because of socialism. This is why there are a lot of Cubans that are living in Florida that are waiting for the Cuban government to change. A socialized democracy is a bit better than straight up dictatorial socialism, but the free market is always much stronger than any heavy handed government control nation. People will almost always try to cut their economic costs. If government gets to big and overbearing people will leave, this is why dictatorial controlled socialized governments has strong border defense to keep people from leaving not people flocking into the country. Fidel Castro had the opportunity to have absolute power and back when he came to power he did say that he will restore democracy to Cuba but when he got the power he was corrupted. He realized that he could become very powerful in Cuba. This is why if government has to exist it has to only protect property rights, self-ownership rights and contract rights. Government in its current form has to destroy some of these rights but it can only use the funds from the individual to protect property rights, self-ownership rights and contract rights.
