So, I tend to call things countries with the "istand" at the end of it. So I frequently call YouTube as YouTubeistand. Twitteristand doesn't really work well with me, so I just call it Twitter. But anyways, my thoughts about Reformed folks, organizations and churches. Over the course of several years I've noticed that the churches in America were adopting Social Justice. And I was thinking that Reformed folks as a whole wouldn't stand for it. And I guess only a few Reformed folks, organizations and churches would fell for Social Justice. I had conversations about "Social Justice" is in the Bible. I flat out reject that notion that Social Justice isn't in the Bible. I'm glad for ministries like Grace to You, and Alpha & Omega Ministries (Dr. James White), confronting the issues of social justice and in the church.
Back in 2011, I was confronted with social justice in my college years (not at college, thankfully) but on YouTube and the concept of social justice was in my mind tied to feminism and the concept of social justice warriors. And I culturally agree with many of the anti-social justice stances. Sargon of Akkad (2015) went to great length of rejecting the notion of social justice. I tend to agree with him on that issue. Western civilization should not and can not accept social justice and still remain a western civilization as we know it. Social Justice is a philosophy that I like to call it, "Race to the Bottom Philosophy" meaning there is no end to social justice. What do I mean "Race to the Bottom Philosophy"? In terms of reparation (Definition Below) as an example within social justice. It demands that the most oppressed people group needs reparation not from the here and now of life, but of the past generations. In the context of USA history, it would be "black people" in the USA would get some kind of reparations of "white slave owners". It is promoted as a vague way. This stuff can get out of hand quickly, Cru for example had a conference not that long ago that was promoting the idea that "white people" of today need to pay for the sins of "white people" of the past aka slave owners. And likewise "black people" of today need to have reparations for the sins of "white people" of the past aka slave owners. One of the "white people" that knew her background told the group at Cru, her decedents were from Europe and had nothing to do with slavery, and the mob of people at Cru conference weren't having it and that she still needs to apologize because she is "white." This of course is wrong and obviously dangerous thinking. It places a never ending burden of people of today for the sins of the past. Another example is the term "Woke." Woke (Definition Link Below) is a slang term that tries to appease certain groups of people. An example that Merriam-Webster dictionary came up with is that Brad Pitt is the "wokest" of Hollywood because he helps "people of color" to achieve in the arts and performances in Hollywood. Or another generic example is the movie woke enough. Meaning, is there enough "diversity" in the movie. Is there a "black woman that is of overweight statue, bi-sexual that enjoys riding in a muscle truck." I'm not saying that there is not such a person out there but to promote the idea that one needs to be the most oppressed in order to get the most social status points in terms of getting reparations of either social status or even in some cases actual money. In the example that I gave out of the "black woman" she would get the promotion or the job based on her status not based on her merit. She can suck at the job and have poor job performance but because she is a "black woman of overweight statue, bi-sexual that enjoys riding a muscle truck" she gets the job. Not the person that has 10 years of experience and have a PHD in the industry and have excellent job performance, that happens to be a "white" person that is male, he should not get the job. This of course as you may see, has real world consequences, if a business hires a bunch of people that are not qualified for the job but are hired merely because of the person's skin color or the sexual orientation that business would quickly become an under performing business and a different business that isn't woke would have a clear advantage, because they would have all the talent. And hence the term "get woke get broke" is really a thing that can happen. Now of course this doesn't play out as clear cut. But the goal is there. And eventually if there is enough "wokeness" in a company, then the company would go out of business. Now companies do realize that they might be a little woke just to appease the mob of social justice warriors because they don't want bad press. So, they would just give them a few bones and hire some "marginalized" people to show that they are woke. Eventually if we take this example to its logical conclusion it would be the companies, societies that do not accept social justice and wokeness will win out. They only care about hiring the best of the best. A society that is 70% of "white" people and 30% other colors, would obviously can't have all the other colors. Within the Church and local churches, I had converations about churches not being "other" enough. Meaning they don't have enough "black" or "hispanic" people in their congregations and I said, OK, I'll just leave because that makes that percentage better. And just saying that usually shuts up the conversation. It should be based merely on one's theology and heart not the color of the one's skin tone. This is why Calvinists can never accept social justice, it is the Calvinist work ethic of being the most efficient and to Glorify God in one's resources and time that God has given, would prevent such a woke company that is own and/or operated by Calvinists and Reformed Folks. Reparations - Merriam-Webster Dictionary - 1. Repairing or keeping in repair, 2. The act of making amends, offering expiation, or giving satisfaction for a wrong or injury or something done or given as amends or satisfaction. Some like GTY and Alpha & Omega have spoken against it. That being said the reason why I'm bringing this issue up again is because many on Twitter that are of Reformed movement has accepted the notion of wokeness and social justice in some degree or another. This has came up from the issue of a "black" person just jogging was the narrative that the media was pushing and some people on Twitter pointed out, we should wait for investigation to be completed and just mentioning that Twitter went nuclear. I largely stayed out of it on Twitter with just a few Tweets making fun of the idea that a 30-second video is absolute proof this person is innocent. Side point: The reason why I put quotations around "black" and "white" for a person's skin tone, is because I really don't believe in the whole issue of race. We are one race, the human race, look at Genesis, and speaking of Genesis I do believe in the Young Universe model of God's creation in six literal days. I'm fine being "hanged" for it on social media, hence why I have a website, and not just social media accounts, where I could get ban from. Another reason why you should get a website.
